Circus workshops for six groups of autistic pupils. 2 new pairs of clown shoes were very popular. Some pupils just loved clumping around in them - often with other clown gear on too. Gave staff ten minute intro at start of day.

Local party for 6 year old. His dad works in the post office. Just balloon modelling + magic as no room for my circus stuff.

Circus workshops as a reward for over 100 pupils who had achieved 100% attendance at this school which had fallen into special measures. Great day.

20th Wedding Anniversary. Ideal opportunity for all the hosts relatives to play on my circus equipment! One could juggle as he walked the length of the tightrope. Penny farthings popular too.

Rain put a bit of a dampener on it for me. Not for the kids though - they enjoy any weather when they are having fun! Nice mix of people there.

Circus show followed by 4 circus workshops each day. For Reception to year 4 pupils. Stilt walking enjoyed by year 3 & 4 children.

Always take my circus workshop to this. All ages enjoy the fun. The convention itself is always a wonderful opportunity to get new ideas to improve.

Yippee ... a local playscheme! Usual fun for one of these hour and a half sessions I find a good length of time.

Chaotic! I think there were 40 kids. Good help from the staff ensured the success of this holiday playscheme.

Started day with circus show where I also introduced equipment. Lovely sunny day so workshops extended outdoors. Kids loved scooting carts down slopes.

Took along some unused clown boots to see if the kids would like them. Indeed they did! One dressed in full clown attire including clown boots. Looked brilliant.

Circus show for 120 Nursery to year 2 pupils. Year 2 pupils started chanting "We want more ... !" at end of show. Teachers surprisingly let them continue quite a while - perhaps they agreed?

A social club setting. Adults round the outside sat at tables + chairs with the babies. All the kids on the floor with the equipment enjoying themselves.

An absolutely delightful outdoor gig in a school playground, Staff so helpful. Weather beautiful. Kids stiltwalking, tightrope walking, riding the novelty cycles, dressing up as clowns and numerous other things in a brilliant afternoon.

Unusual gig. As part of celebrations opening a new playground I gave circus workshops to Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 classes outside on a sloping grassy area. Not ideal conditions! Still the children as usual were asking when they would next see me.

Wednesday 20th April - Malvern Special Families, Worcestershire

So nice to see the special needs youngsters taking to all the equipment. Several had a go at stiltwalking as well as the staff. Made some balloon models for them to take home at the end.

Drumming by the kids drove the secretary crazy! We placed them just outside for the rest of the day. The kids just as happy to venture there to get a go.

Lovely sunny day. Went for walk at lunchtime and bought a Satsuma. Workshops went smoothly as usual for R, Yr1 & Yr2.

Circus Skills badge. Skills taught in this workshop included a novelty 2 ball juggling trick, toothbrush twirling, peacock feather balancing and balloon modelling.

An SLD/PMLD school. A fellow entertainer made a surprise appearance! He's now a teacher at a neighbouring primary school. His pupils had been invited to join in all the fun. We had great times in the 90's entertaining at University Balls. Two great days here at Calthorpe with extremely helpful staff.
